    GREENSBORO, N.C. – Derek Perry had three hits for a second straight game and seven different batters knocked in at least one run, but the No. 6-seeded Pfeiffer University baseball team (24-24) was outlasted by No. 3 seed Belmont Abbey (33-15) with a final off 11-9 on the third day of the Conference Carolinas tournament.
  • Pfeiffer Baseball Does It Again; Falcons Stun No. 1 Seed in Conference Tournament Opener

    ELON, N.C. – The No. 6 seeded Pfeiffer Falcons (23-23) used an eight run sixth inning to knock off the No. 1 seeded and the nations top ranked team, Mount Olive (42-8) on Thursday night in Conference Carolinas Tournament play. Pfeiffer improved to 3-0 in the first round of Conference Tournament action in the past three season with a 9-2 upset victory. It was also the second straight year Pfeiffer entered as the No. 6 seed and knocked off the league’s top seed in game one.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Thanks to a sweep of King on Friday night, the Pfeiffer baseball team (21-23, 11-15 CC) clinched the No. 6 seed in the upcoming Conference Carolinas Tournament. The Falcons needed to take two of three this weekend from the Tornado (19-26, 9-17) and have Mount Olive beat Limestone twice. Both came through successfully as Pfeiffer looks to advance to their third straight Conference Tournament Championship game.

    On Saturday afternoon, the Pfeiffer Falcons (19-22, 9-15 CC) dropped both games of a crucial doubleheader at the North Greenville Crusaders (34-12, 17-7 CC). In game two, Pfeiffer fought back from seven runs down in the top of the seventh to take a short lived 11-9 lead but North Greenville were eventually victorious, 12-11.

    TIGERVILLE, S.C. - In a game that saw 29 hits between two teams, the Pfeiffer Falcons (19-20, 9-13 CC) came up on the short end as they fell 10-5 to the North Greenville Crusaders (32-12, 15-7 CC) on Friday afternoon in a late season Conference Carolinas match-up.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Pfeiffer Falcons (19-19, 9-12 CC) split Saturday's doubleheader with the Emmanuel Lions (14-24, 7-17 CC) at Joe Ferebee Field, losing game one 13-9 and picking up a win in game two, 7-5. Jordan Eckard collected five hits with two RBI on the day and Xavier Rodriguez added up four hits, four RBI and also picked up a save.

    MISENHEIMER, NC – The Pfeiffer University baseball team (18-18, 8-11 CC) held on for a 6-5 victory against Emmanuel (13-23, 6-16) Friday evening at Joe Ferebee Field. Left-hander Drew Wilson earned his third win of the season, tossing six innings and scattering five hits and one run while striking out seven batters. Xavier Rodriguez claimed his fourth save of the year.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. - The Pfeiffer baseball team (17-18) continued their hot stretch with an 8-5 victory over Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday evening. Jordan Eckard hit a two run bomb in the first inning and Gauge Gantt broke a 5-5 tie with an RBI single in the 7th inning.

    After sweeping Barton in Saturday’s doubleheader, Pfeiffer (16-18, 7-11 CC) was looking to take sole possession of sixth place in Conference Carolinas but the Falcons dropped the rubber game on Sunday afternoon to the Bulldogs (22-15, 7-11), 2-1. Falcon starter Nick Richmond went five innings, giving up no runs, scattering four hits.

    NEWBERRY, S.C. – For the second time this season Pfeiffer (12-15) defeated Newberry (17-13) in extra innings. On Wednesday, the Falcons defeated the Wolves 10-9 in 10 innings as Zach Scudder went 5-for-5 with four runs scored and Kirby Lambert had three hits in five at bats to go along with his 3 RBI.

Even though it’s not reflected in statistics Falcon game one starter Jordan Toney pitched a strong game as he went nine innings, as he gave up five runs as he struck out ten batters.

    MISENHEIMER, NC – The Pfeiffer University baseball team opened its three-game series with No. 5-ranked Mount Olive by dropping a 7-5 decision to the Trojans on Friday evening at Joe Ferebee Field. UMO stretched its winning streak to six and remained undefeated in Conference Carolinas, heading into Saturday with a 21-5 (10-0) record. The loss puts Pfeiffer at 11-13 (4-6) on the season.

    MISENHEIMER, NC – Limestone (12-9, 2-3 CC) entered the weekend looking for its first official road win of the 2017 season but did not find it at Joe Ferbee Field. After securing a 6-3 win on Friday night, the Pfeiffer baseball team (9-8, 3-3) grabbed two more on Saturday, 5-4 and 16-3 to clinch an emphatic three-game series sweep.
