Pfeiffer Baseball Earns Top Seed in ECAC Division III Tournament

Misenheimer, N.C. (May 14, 2019) –
The Pfeiffer University baseball team has been tabbed the No. 1 overall seed for the upcoming ECAC Baseball Tournament.

The first round will begin on Wednesday, May 15 in Chambersburg, Pa. as fourth-seeded Wilson College takes on fifth-seeded Penn State-Altoona at 3:00 p.m.

Pfeiffer will take on the winner of that game on Saturday, May 18 in the semifinals at Noon. The second semifinal will take place at approximately 4:00 p.m. featuring third-seeded Grove City and second-seeded and host Penn State-Behrend.

The Falcons, who will receive a first round bye, finished the regular season with a 28-8 overall record. Wilson finished with a 20-12 overall record while their opponent, Penn State-Altoona completed their season with a 28-16 overall mark.

2019 ECAC Division III Baseball Championship

First Round – Wednesday, May 15 –  Chambersburg, Pa.
Game 1 – No. 5 Penn State-Altoona (28-16) at No. 4 Wilson (20-12) – 3:00 p.m.

Semifinals – Saturday, May 18 – Penn State-Behrend – Erie, Pa.
Game 2 – No. 1 Pfeiffer (28-8) vs. Game 1 winner – Noon
Game 3 – No. 2 Penn State-Behrend (24-16)  vs. No. 3 Grove City (27-15) 4:00 p.m.

Championship – Sunday, May 19 – Penn State-Behrend– Erie, Pa.
Game 4 – Semifinal winners – 1:00 p.m.
