Winston-Salem, N.C. -- The Pfeiffer men's basketball team (21-4) tied its own program record with 23 made 3-pointers in a 125-94 victory at Piedmont International on Monday night. The win concludes the Falcons 2017-18 regular season and gives Pfeiffer its 12th win of 30 or more points on the season.
The Falcons went 23-for-47 from long range led by seven threes from Blake Smith. Smith finished with 21 points and over his last six games, Smith has knocked down 33 3-pointers. Tyjarek Simmons added 18 points and Luke Storey buried five 3-pointers. Senior Josh Calhoun finished his last regular season game in a Pfeiffer uniform with 18 points.
Pfeiffer forced 25 turnovers and had 16 steals. Brian Harper and Simmons each finished with three steals.
The Falcons now wait to see if they have a chance to play for an ECAC Championship. The ECAC committee will meet next Monday after the NCAA announces its tournament field and will put together a 15 team ECAC bracket. The bracket will be released a week from today.
