Men's Basketball Drops 117-105 Game to Wesley at the Black Tie Classic

Wesley Drops Pfeiffer Men's Basketball at Black Tie Classic

– The Pfeiffer University men's basketball team dropped a 117-105 game to Wesley College at the Black Tie Classic hosted by Birmingham Southern on Friday at the Bill Battle Coliseum.

Wesley shot a sizzling 69.7% from the field in the first half while the Falcons managed a 55.9% clip, with Wesley taking the 61-49 lead at halftime.
 
In the second half, the Falcons trimmed the deficit to 96-91 at the 6:23 mark but would get no closer the rest of the way.

Pfeiffer shot 55.1% on the night, hitting 38-of-69 shots on the night and 40% from long range 16-of-40. Wesley completed the game shooting 63.6% from the field (42-of-66) and made 14 three-pointers.

Individually, Tristen Rodriguez (Gastonia, N.C.) led the way with 23 points after hitting 8-of-14 attempts and five three pointers.  Teammates Kyle Riddley (Charlotte, N.C.) and Craig Sabb (Goose Creek, S.C.) were the other Falcons in double figures, scoring 22 and 21 points, respectively.

Brian Cameron had a game-high 34 points for Wesley.

The Falcons (4-4) will complete play in the Black Tie Classic on Saturday night against host Birmingham Southern.
