Riddley's 37 Points Not Enough as Falcons Fall at Berea
Berea, Ky. (Feb. 2, 2019) – Pfeiffer University's Kyle Riddley scored a game-high 37 points but it was not enough, as the Falcons dropped a 111-104 USA South game at Berea College on Saturday afternoon.
Riddley, a product of Charlotte, N.C., went 9-of-12 from the field and hit three three-pointers in the losing effort. He also was 16-of-23 from the foul line and controlled a team-best eight rebounds.
Craig Sabb (Goose Creek, S.C.) and Josiah Avington (Fredericksburg, Va.) managed 17 ad 16 points, respectively. Sabb finished 6-of-12 from the field with two from long range while Avington went 4-of-14 with one three-pointer.
Berea had five players in double-figures, led by Torell Carter's 37 points. Carter also secured 11 rebounds in the win. Isaac Caudill had 29 points, Deandre Lightfoot and Gabe Hinton each managed 11 points and Austin Glasgow had 10 points in the win.
The win improves Berea to 11-9 overall and 6-7 in USA South play while Pfeiffer falls to 10-10 and 5-8 in league play.
Pfeiffer will next be in action on Sunday afternoon, Feb. 3 with a USA South game at Maryville College.
