Garlow Breaks Goals Record as Falcons Overpower Brevard

MISENHEIMER, N.C. -- Dwayne Davis' record of 62 goals in a season had stood since 1992 but senior Blade Garlow put his own name atop the record book with a 9-goal outburst in Pfeiffer's (10-3) 23-13 win on Senior Night over Brevard (9-3). Garlow needed just five goals to break the record but shattered by tying his career high with nine tallies to give him 67 for the year.

Jared Nelson tied his own single game record with 10 assists and topped the 100 career assist mark with the effort. Nelson has 108 career assists and his 102 points this season is eight shy of that mark set by Kevin Iwanusa in 1997.

The Falcons had little trouble with Brevard, scoring 10 of the games first 12 goals. Garlow personally scored the final three goals for Pfeiffer to close out the first quarter and give the Falcons a 6-2 lead after the first 15 minutes.

In quarter number two, Garlow broke the record with 10:33 to play and put Pfeiffer ahead 8-2. Garlow's sixth and final goal of the first half put Pfeiffer up 11-4 before Brevard would get one before the quarter ended.

After the Tornados scored at the beginning of the third quarter, Pfeiffer put the game away with a 3-0 spurt to push the lead to 14-6.

The team's would combine for 12 goals in the fourth quarter, with Pfeiffer scoring seven times.

With the win, Pfeiffer ends its regular season on a seven game winning streak and now turns its attention towards a possibly ECAC Tournament bid. The ECAC brackets will be announced following the NCAA unveiling its tournament field. Pfeiffer's fate will be determined in early May.
