Pfeiffer Men's Lacrosse Takes 14-9 Win Over Emmanuel in Season Opener

Misenheimer, N.C.. – The Pfeiffer Falcons men's lacrosse team captured a 14-9 win over visiting Emmanuel on Saturday afternoon at Lefko Field.

Jared Nelson tallied eight goals while Raymond Cox added a pair in the win.
Tom Romanik made eight saves to earn the win.

HOW IT HAPPENED

First Quarter:
Emmanuel jumped out to a 2-0 lead with goals from Lance Olson and Allan Velasquez, but Pfeiffer's Jaylin Jones responded to make it 2-1, a score that would hold to the end of the quarter.

Second Quarter:
Emmanuel stretched their lead to 6-2 before Pfeiffer responded with two goals from Jared Nelson to close the gap to 6-4 at halftime

Third Quarter:
Pfeiffer came out on fire as the Falcons scored three goals, two from Nelson and one from Chris Alcorn to take the 7-6 lead.  Emmanuel then got a goal from Olsen to tie the game at 7-7 after three quarters.

Fourth Quarter:
The Falcons scored six unanswered goals in the fourth, one each from Paxton Turner and Raymond Cox.  Nelson then reeled off four straight before Emmanuel broke the Pfeiffer scoring streak with two of their own.  Cox scored the final goal of the game, as Pfeiffer took the 14-9 win.
