MISENHEIEMR, N.C. -- On the next to last home game of the season, the Pfeiffer men's soccer team came out with a big win against Berea (0-15) by a final score of 9-0 on Saturday afternoon. The Falcons climbed over the .500 mark for the first time this season as they improved their record to 7-6-1. The Falcons scored four times in the first half and put the ball in the back of the net five more times in the second half.
The scoring started early for Pfeiffer. Just six minutes into the game, Chris Brown scored the first goal off a pass from Caleb Bratager to put the Falcons ahead. From there the Pfeiffer offense took off, as just a minute later Felix Erana scored his second goal of the season on an assist from Stenson Croom. The final two goals of the half came from Bratager in the 9th minute and Eddie Pinion in the 41st minute.
To open the second half, Memo Pacheco scored his first goal of the season in the 53rd minute on an assist from Samuel Palmer. Palmer also scored his first goal of the season later in the half on a cross from Pacheco to put the Falcons ahead 7-0. Other goal scorers on the day for Pfeiffer included Imer Avila, who scored two goals in the second half, and Jonathon Quintero.
All in all, seven different players scored a goal in the route.
Pfeiffer led the way in shots 32-4 for the match. Goalkeeper Tomas Correa improved his record to 7-5-1 on the season. The senior goalkeeper will look to get one last win at home on senior day Sunday afternoon.
The final home match of the season comes Sunday afternoon against the Huntingdon Hawks at 1:00 p.m.
