    MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Conference Carolinas announced its 2017 tennis award winners Thursday evening and Pfeiffer senior Olivia Nelms was named Conference Women’s Player of the Year as well as first team singles. Seniors Mylene Petitpas and Alex Woerner were also awarded as second team singles all-conference.

Smith on Sunday to close out its final appearance at the Knapp Tennis Center of the 2017 season strong.

    FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – Pfeiffer’s men’s tennis team (6-7, 2-3 CC) defeated Emmanuel 5-4 on Saturday afternoon, winning No. 1 and 2 doubles, and No. 1, 2, and 4 singles. The Falcons were led by Axel Woerner and Bjorn Barwinski, as the two both secured wins in doubles and singles.

    Boiling Springs, NC – Pfeiffer’s men’s tennis team (3-4) dropped a tough loss to Division I opponent Gardner Webb (4-5) on Monday afternoon, 6-1. The Falcons were unable to notch a set win in doubles play with Eduan Louw and David Weir falling to Michael Perry and Ross Gilbert, 6-1, at No. 3. Runnin’ Bulldogs aces Maximilian Scholl and Paul Hogan followed suit over Bjorn Barwinski and Thomas Hubble with a 6-0 win at No. 1 doubles to seal the point.

    MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Three Falcons earned Conference Carolinas Player of the Week honors as announced by the league this afternoon. Matt Chavers won the Field Athlete of the Week, Makenzie Pennell earned softball hitter of the week honors and Bjorn Barwinski was the men’s tennis player of the week. These three join Molly O’Friel who was named women’s lacrosse player of the week yesterday to give the Falcons four honorees.
