Falcons Unable to Pick Up Win at Barton, Falling 7-2

Wilson, NC – The Pfeiffer University men's tennis team (4-6, 0-2 CC) had a difficult time on the courts Wednesday afternoon in what was a 7-2 loss to Barton College at the Barton Tennis Complex. With the win, the Bulldogs improve to 5-3 and have won four matches in a row.

Pfeiffer trailed 2-1 after doubles play, picking up a win at the No. 2 position from Raul Ruiz and Alex Woerner over Rory Gaydon and Yaxi Pintado, 8-5. The Falcons were then able to tie the match 2-2 when Bjorn Barnwinski defeated Jake McCartney (6-3, 2-6, 7-5) at No. 1 singles. However, Barton reeled off five straight wins at positions No. 2-6 to take the decisive match victory.

The Falcons will resume action on Saturday, March 11 at noon.
