Men's Tennis Defeats Brevard 8-1

Brevard, N.C. – The Pfeiffer men's tennis team defeated Brevard on Friday afternoon 8-1. The Falcons were led by Thomas Hubble, who defeated his singles opponent Tim Hengst 6-1, 6-2. Hubble also teamed up with Raul Ruiz to win their doubles match against Hengst and Tom Mittring 8-5.

Ruiz also put up a strong performance in singles play, defeating Jaume Reig 6-0, 6-0. Trey Speight and Kevin Garcia also picked up singles match wins, with Speight winning 6-1, 6-1, and Garcia taking home a 6-4, 6-2 victory. David Weir also picked up a singles win on the match.

In doubles play, the team of Bjorn Barwinski and David Weir defeated David Bumgarner and Will Christiansen 8-1. Speight and Garcia also collected a doubles win, defeating Reig and Florian Peyssonneaux 8-6.

Pfeiffer hits the court again on Saturday as they travel to Johnson C. Smith University. Match time is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.
