The Pfeiffer men's tennis team (6-1) posted a 3-0 record this weekend, claiming a road win at Methodist (5-4) on Saturday and then winning a home doubleheader against William Peace (9-0) and Guilford (8-1) on Sunday afternoon.
At Methodist (1-3), the Falcons went 2-1 in doubles action to grab the early advantage. Thomas Hubble and Raul Ruiz grabbed an 8-6 win at first doubles and Bjorn Barwinski and David Weir earned an 8-3 victory.
In singles action, Barwinski dropped a tough three-set battle at the number one spot but Hubble earned a 6-2, 6-4 win at number two. Weir dropped his first set 6-4 but rallied to win 6-2, 6-2 and grab a much-needed victory. The Monarchs earned wins at numbers four and six but Raul Ruiz beat Wynn Johnson 6-0, 2-6, 6-4.
After the grueling matchup, Pfeiffer hosted a pair of matches starting with William Peace (1-3) at noon. The wind was gusting but the Falcons had no problems with the Pacers, winning in dominating fashion, 9-0.
In the afternoon matchup, Guilford (2-2) proved little resistance for the Falcons who won 9-1.
Pfeiffer returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Randolph Macon and look to extend their winning streak to six in a row.
