Men's Tennis Extends Win Streak to Four With 5-4 Win Over Averett

Danville, V.A. -- The Pfeiffer men's tennis team took home a close 5-4 win over Averett on Friday to secure their 11th win on the year. With the win, the Falcons extend their win streak to 4 matches.

Pfeiffer went 3-3 in singles play, getting wins from Thomas Hubble, David Weir, and Raul Ruiz. Hubble defeated Felipe Andreazza 6-2, 6-2, while Weir came home with a 6-2, 5-7, and 6-1 win. Ruiz defeated Carlos Lora 6-3, 6-1.

The Falcons would take two out of three in doubles play to score the win. Ruiz and Hubble came home with a victory over Andreanzza and Douwe Sternfeld 8-6. Bjorn Barwinski and Weir also took home a victory in doubles 9-7.

Pfeiffer will hit the court again when they travel to Greensboro on Saturday. The match is scheduled for 2 p.m.
