MISENHEIMER, N.C. - With an upset loss at the hands of North Greenville last week, the Pfeiffer softball team has dropped two spots and comes in at No. 4 in this week's National Fast pitch Coaches Association (NFCA) poll. Harding and Humboldt State jumped past the Falcons who sit 38-4 on the year with four games left to play in the regular season.

North Greenville came away with a 7-0 victory at Jack Ingram Field on last Thursday. Pfeiffer rebounded with a 6-3 win in game two and remain at the top of the Conference Carolinas league standings. The Falcons have Belmont Abbey and King left to play this week and are currently one game ahead of Limestone for first place. If Pfeiffer holds off Limestone, it would be the Falcons first regular season championship since the 2000 season and only their third regular season crown since 1990.

The Conference Carolinas tournament begins next week with Pfeiffer looking to claim back-to-back championships. The Falcons defeated Limestone in last year's championship game by a final score of 4-3.

Pfeiffer returns to action this afternoon as they host Belmont Abbey at 4 p.m. in their final home games of the 2017 regular season.
