MISENHEIMER, N.C. - For the second straight season, the Pfeiffer softball team has qualified for the NCAA Division II Softball Tournament starting on Thursday, May 11. This year, the Falcons earned an at-large bid and are the No. 7 seed in the Southeast Region.
Armstrong St. was selected as the host for the Southeast 2 Regional this weekend, the second consecutive year that Pfeiffer will travel to Savannah, GA. In its opener, the Falcons (44-6) will take on No. 2 seed Carson-Newman (43-11) at 2:30 p.m.
Pfeiffer is 2-4 all-time in NCAA Tournament play and beat Lenoir-Rhyne twice a season ago. Pfeiffer met Carson-Newman in the 2008 NCAA Regional, the first time Pfeiffer advanced to the NCAA Tournament, with the Eagles coming away victorious.
