LOUISVILLE, KY. -- Vada Blue Sherrill earned her second NFCA National Player of the Week award the league announced this afternoon. Sherrill had previously won the National Player of the Week on Feb. 27.
In her eight games last week, Sherrill produced a .500 batting average (14-for-28) with 14 runs scored, six home runs and 19 RBIs. In game two of a doubleheader against Johnson C. Smith, Sherrill hit grand slams in back-to-back at-bats and finished the game with three homers and 10 RBI. For the week, Sherrill posted a slugging percentage of 1.250 and walked six times with zero strikeouts. Her on-base percentage was .588 and she went a perfect 10-for-10 in stolen bases on the week. The Falcons went 7-1 on the week.
Through the first 20 games of the season, Sherrill has 10 HR, 38 RBI, 33 R and is hitting .556. Sherrill is also a perfect 28-for-28 in stolen base attempts.
