Women's Basketball Announces 2017-18 Season Schedule

MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Pfeiffer women's basketball head coach Tooey Loy announced the Falcons 2017-18 schedule this afternoon. Pfeiffer opens competition with a pre-season contest at Division I Gardner-Webb on November 10th. The regular season begins for the Falcons one week later on November 17th as they host Hollins University at 7 p.m.

Pfeiffer will play one more game against Division I competition when they travel to Greenville, South Carolina on November 22nd to take on the Southern Conference's Furman Paladins. The Falcons are no stranger to playing Division I schools as last season they knocked off N.C. Central, 50-47 on November 11th.

The Falcons begin the meat of their schedule against USA South Conference opponents as they play their first of 22 games on December 3rd as they travel to Meredith to play the Avenging Angels. The Falcons are familiar with Meredith as they hosted them an exhibition on November 15th that saw the Falcons win by the score of 67-40. In that game, Sydni Bickford poured in 17 points and made five three pointers. Pfeiffer plays the rematch with Meredith inside Merner Gymnasium on February 3rd.

Pfeiffer will travel to William Peace on November 20th to face the second leading scoring team in the USA South Conference a year ago as they amassed 68.4 points per game. The Pacers defensively were fourth in the conference with 3.7 blocks per game. The Falcons and Pacers rematch will take place on February 4th at Merner Gymnasium.

On January 6th, the Falcons will host last year's USA South Eastern Division Champions, Ferrum College. The Panthers went 18-9 last year. The two will play again on January 21st at home.

Also on the east side of USA South, the Averett Cougars come to the village on January 13th to play the Falcons. The Cougars in 2016-17 were second in the East division also with an 18-9 record but fell two games short of Ferrum. The Falcons return the favor on January 28th as they travel to Danville.

The Falcons end their home portion of their schedule on February 17th as they host the Brevard Tornados at 2 p.m.  Six days later, the two will finish up their seasons as they play a pair of games on the 23rd and 24th in Brevard.
