MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Conference Carolinas announced its men's and women's golf All-Conference teams as part of the 2016 Conference Carolinas Tournament this evening. On the men's side, Zach Weaver earned Third Team All-Conference, while Amanda Floberg and Meghan Holbrooks took home Second Team honors for the women.
Weaver shot an average score of 73.39 in his junior season to garner his first All-Conference selection of his career. Weaver finished in the top-5 on two occasions and placed in the top-10 in four different tournaments. The Lynchburg, VA native had his best finish at the Pfeiffer Invitational as he shot a two round score of 142, good for a second place finish.
Floberg was a Third Team All-Conference selection a year ago and moved up to a Second Team performer during her sophomore season. The Stockholm, Sweden native finished in the top-5 four different times and shot an average round score of 78.47. Floberg finished third at the King Invitational in the fall and placed fifth on two separate occasions. Her best tournament score came at the Pfeiffer Invitational where she shot a two round total of 152 and took home a first place finish.
Holbrooks also had a tremendous sophomore season and earned her first All-Conference selection. Holbrooks has three top-five finishes and won the season-opening tournament at Cutter Creek, where she shot a two-round total of 148 to finish atop 54 golfers. The Winston Salem, N.C. native also finished third at the King Invitational and the Pfeiffer Invitational.
The Falcons look for a strong finish to their 2016 campaigns as the men and women compete in the Conference Carolinas Tournament hosted at Bryan Park.
