Pfeiffer Finishes 15th at Converse Invitational

Spartanburg, SC – The Pfeiffer University women's golf team made its 2017 spring debut on Monday and Tuesday, finshing 15th in the annual two-round Converse Invitational at the Carolina Country Club (par 72).

The Falcons shot 65-over par in the second round (353) after scoring 50-over par (338) on Day 1, giving them a final total of 115-over as a unit to beat out Converse's B team by two strokes. Converse's A team won the invite with 51-over par after finishing with a tournament-best 309 on Tuesday.

Nineteen schools competed in the Converse Invitational in total.

Junior Meghan Holbrooks was Pfeiffer's leader in the individual standings. The Winston Salem native shot a 159 to finish 15-over par and finished tied for 18th place.

Sophomore Cristina del Diego and senior Allyson Heinz tied for 38th place after both shooting 83's on Tuesday to end the invite 23-over par. Senior Rachel Klein rounded things out for the Falcons, concluding the competition 54-over par.

The Falcons will appear next in the Pfeiffer Invitational in Hilton Head, SC, on March 6-7.
