BRISTOL, TENN. -- The Pfeiffer women's golf team traveled to Bristol, Tennessee to compete in the two-day King University Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. The Falcons placed 7th in a tournament comprised entirely of Division II programs.
Continuing a stellar career, senior Meghan Holbrooks followed up last week's tournament victory with a third-place finish today. Holbrooks posted a 75 in round one and a 76 in round two for a final score of 151. Holbrooks was just two shots out of second place and five shots out of first.
Olivia Templeton tied for 20th with a score of 163. However, the rest of the Falcons struggled with the par-71 course. Jessica May, Caroline Rea and Karie Shields rounded out Pfeiffer's top five golfers.
Carson-Newman won the tournament with a team score of 616. Elizabeth England claimed first place with her two-day total of 146.
The Falcons return to action on October 9 when they compete at the Patsy Rendleman Invitational. That tournament will be Pfeiffer's final tournament of the fall season.
