Pfeiffer Women's Lacrosse Uses Fast Start to Earn 16-4 Road Win at Brevard
Brevard, N.C. (March 9, 2019) – The Pfeiffer University women's lacrosse team used a fast start to overwhelm host Brevard in a 16-4 USA South game on Saturday at Imes-Lemel Field.

After spotting Brevard a 1-0 lead, Pfeiffer scored six unanswered goals to take the 6-1 lead. Pfeiffer led 10-3 at halftime and only allowed one goal in the second half, taking the 16-4 win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Brevard struck first less than five minutes in but the Falcons reeled off six straight goals, the first from junior Kaley Hyatt at the 23:49 mark on a free position shot. Startraya Galloway added the next Pfeiffer goal and Meagan Bourque scored the next two goals to extend the Falcon lead to 4-1. Hailey Metzger and Gabby Bosak added goals to make it 6-1. Following two Brevard goals, Starnice Galloway tallied a pair followed by another from Bosak. Bourque concluded the first half scoring for the Falcons at the 1:03 mark, giving Pfeiffer the 10-3 halftime lead.
The Tornados opened the second half scoring, cutting the Pfeiffer lead to 10-4, but the Falcons dominated the rest of the way, scoring six goals, two each from Starnice Galloway, Bourque and Startraya Galloway, with the Falcons winning 16-4.
Bourque lead all Falcon scorers with five goals while Starnice Galloway added four. Hailey Metzger and Gabby Bosak tallied two assists each in the win.
The Falcons will stay on the road, taking on Piedmont at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10.
