Women's Soccer Earns 2-1 Double OT Win at Meredith

Pfeiffer Women's Soccer Wins 2-1 Double-OT Match at Meredith

Raleigh, N.C. (Sept. 21, 2018) –
The Pfeiffer University women's soccer team got a game-winning goal from Cayci Eaton in the second overtime period to down Meredith 2-1 on Friday afternoon in Raleigh.

Eaton's third goal of the season came in the 105th minute of play, sending the Falcons to 4-1 overall and 1-0 in league play.

Meredith (3-2-1) took the early 1-0 lead in the 17th minute when Celvy Kofsky notched her first career goal after knocking in a cross from Katie Quinn.

Pfeiffer knotted the match at 1-1 when Madeline Capel got a pass from Sophia Griffin, then buried it from five yards out at the 31:23 mark.

The teams battled throughout the second half, eventually going into overtime, with Eaton's heroics coming in the second extra stanza.Pfeiffer outshot Meredith 24-6 on the afternoon, with Angels keeper Kat Pike notching 11 saves on the afternoon.

The Falcons will return to play on Saturday, Sept. 29 at 1:00 p.m., hosting Methodist for homecoming.
