Greensboro Takes 2-1 Win Over Pfeiffer Women's Soccer

Greensboro, N.C. (Oct. 3, 2018) –
Sophomore Madeline Capel netted her team-best sixth goal of the season but it was not enough as Greensboro College remained undefeated after a 2-1 win over the Pfeiffer University women's soccer team on Wednesday afternoon in Greensboro, N.C.

After Greensboro went up 1-0 just three minutes into the match, the Harrisburg, N.C. product received a pass from fellow sophomore Meredith Manson (Auburndale, Fla.) and slotted it into the Pride goal at the 4:36 mark.

After going nearly 24 minutes deadlocked in a 1-1 tie, Greensboro's Mercedes Bauza scored her second of the match and seventh of the season to provide the 2-1 cushion, a lead that Greensboro would not relinquish the rest of the way.

The loss sends the Falcons (5-2, 1-1 USA South) to just their second loss on the season while Greensboro extended their winning streak to 10 matches.

The Falcons will return to USA South play on Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., hosting William Peace at Lefko Field.
