Pfeiffer Women's Soccer Rolls Past William Peace, 4-0

Four different players scored as the Pfeiffer University women's soccer team dominated visiting William Peace University at a hot and humid Lefko Field on Saturday afternoon.

Pfeiffer (6-2, 2-1 USA South) opened the scoring in the 21st minute when sophomore
Cayci Eaton (Harrisburg, N.C.) notched her fourth goal of the season after
Meredith Manson (Auburndale, Fla.) delivered a well-placed ball for her third assist of the year.

Less than seven minutes later, the Falcons jumped up 2-0 when Mackenzie Pruitt (Havelock, N.C.) scored unassisted.

After Pfeiffer held the 2-0 halftime advantage, freshman Tracy Torrez (Orlando, Fla.) got her first collegiate goal after receiving a pass from Allison Gonzalez (Charlotte, N.C.), putting the Falcons up 3-0.

Sophia Griffin (Durham, N.C.) capped the scoring with a penalty kick in the final seconds to send Pfeiffer to the 4-0 win.

Pfeiffer limited William Peace to just four shots on the afternoon while taking 25, with 14 being on goal.

Pfeiffer goalkeeper Kaley Hyatt (St. Cloud, Fla.) earned her sixth win of the year while make a pair of saves.

Next up for the Falcons will be a home date with Averett University on Oct. 9. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
