Mackenzie Pruitt's Hat Trick Leads Pfeiffer Women's Soccer Past Johnson & Wales

Pineville, N.C. (Oct. 31, 2018) – Pfeiffer University freshman Mackenzie Pruitt netted a hat trick to help the Falcons to a 7-3 road win over Johnson & Wales on Tuesday night.

After jumping ahead 1-0 on a goal from Madeline Capel, her tenth of the season, in the ninth minute, Pruitt scored the next three goals in the 15th, 17th and 30th minutes to boost the Falcons to a 4-0 lead at halftime. Pruitt now leads the Falcons with 11 goals on the season

Pfeiffer would go up 5-0 just five minutes into the second half when Meredith Manson scored her third goal of the year.

JWU got on the board in the 53rd minute with a strike from Danielle Doyle, but Pfeiffer stretched the lead to 7-1 on goals from Tracy Torrez and Jessica Vazquez.  JWU provided the 7-3 final with goals in the 72nd and 76th minute to capo the scoring.

With the win, Pfeiffer concludes the regular season at 12-2 overall and will await pairings for the upcoming ECAC Women's Soccer Championship.
