    MISENHEIMER, N.C. – Conference Carolinas announced its 2017 tennis award winners Thursday evening and Pfeiffer senior Olivia Nelms was named Conference Women’s Player of the Year as well as first team singles. Seniors Mylene Petitpas and Alex Woerner were also awarded as second team singles all-conference.

    BANNER ELK, N.C. – There isn’t a much better time to go on a winning streak than at regular season’s end, and that’s exactly what the Pfeiffer University women’s tennis team (5-12, 3-8 CC) accomplished over the last five days. After defeating King and Converse last week, the Falcons won their third match in a row against Lees-McRae (4-13, 1-10) on Monday afternoon at the LMC Tennis Courts to clinch the final seed in the upcoming Conference Carolinas Tournament.

In what was a back-and-forth effort, the Falcons earned a gritty 5-4 win over Converse (6-16, 2-9) Friday evening at the Knapp Tennis Center – their final home appearance of the 2017 spring season.
