Women's Volleyball Falls to Meredith In Straight Sets

MISENHEIMER, N.C. – The Pfeiffer Falcons (1-15) struggled as they fell in straight sets to the Meredith Avenging Angels (10-9) on Wednesday night. Erin Errington led all players with a match-high eight kills but the Falcons as a team were out-hit .434 to -.141.

The Falcons hung around in set one as they kept the score close at 7-5 but Meredith was able to go on to win the set 23-11. The Avenging Angels had two runs of four and one of five points that were unanswered.

Again, in set two and three, Pfeiffer couldn't find any traction on offense as they hit .000 and -.300 respectively.   The Avenging Angels were able to progressively get better in terms of hitting percentage throughout the match.  In set three, Meredith hit .625 as it helped out to a 20-0 run and eventually going on to win 25-3.

Pfeiffer's Katie Anne Wilson notched her 1000th career assist as she led the team with 10.  Sophomore Lili Jaramillo had eight digs.

The Avenging Angels as a team totaled 13 aces. Lauren Phillips alone added seven. Caroline Corey, Haley Reeg and Alex Hafliger led their team with seven kills apiece. 

Pfeiffer returns to play on Saturday as they host a quad match with Greensboro, Mary Baldwin, and this same Meredith team.
