Pfeiffer Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision to Guilford

Misenheimer, N.C. (Sept. 7, 2018) –
Visiting Guilford College limited the Pfeiffer University volleyball team to just a .051 hitting percentage, taking a 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-15) win over the Falcons at Merner Gym on Friday evening.

Pfeiffer (2-4) got a team-best eight kills from Alonna Clouse (Harrisburg, N.C.) on the match. Clouse also finished with a 13 digs, as did teammate Angelina Fardella (Harrisburg, N.C.). Also contributing in double-figures was Emma Gray Beacham (Laurinburg, N.C.), as she had an 11 dig effort.

Fardella led the Falcons in assists, dishing out 19 in the loss.

Guilford got 20 kills from Morgan Tompkins and 11 digs from McKinley Durham, hel;ing the Quakers to improve to 4-2 overall.

The Falcons will return to the court on Saturday afternoon, traveling to Hendersonville, N.C. to take on William Peace and Brevard.   Pfeiffer will tangle with the Pacers at 2:00 p.m. and with the host Tornados at 4:00 p.m. at the Xcel SportsPlex.
