Pfeiffer Volleyball Splits Saturday Matches at Brevard

Hendersonville, N.C. (Sept. 8, 2018) – The Pfeiffer volleyball team split a pair of matches at the Brevard College Tornado Challenge on Saturday, opening play with a 3-0 (23-25, 20-25, 14-25) loss to William Peace and closing the day with a 3-1 (25-20, 18-25, 25-17, 25-22) win over host Brevard at the Xcel Sportsplex in Hendersonville, N.C.

Against the Pacers, Pfeiffer's Alonna Clouse led the way with eight kills and registered 14 digs.  Teammate Emma Gray Beachem had a team-best 16 digs.  Lili Jaramillo and Angelina Fardella also played well defensively, each having 10 digs.  Fardella also led the Falcons in assists with 22.

In the second match against Brevard, Clouse and Madison Kuejl had 14 and 12 kills, respectively. Fardella once again led the attack with 33 assists.  Beacham finished with 22 digs in the second match while Fardella and Clouse had 15 digs apiece.

Defensively, Kuejl had three solo blocks and six block assists against the Tornados.

Pfeiffer now stands at 3-5 on the season and will return to play on Friday, Sept. 14 with a home match against Belmont Abbey.  Start time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
