Pfeiffer Volleyball Sweeps Matches Over Mary Baldwin and N.C. Wesleyan

Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct.6, 2018) –
The Pfeiffer University volleyball team picked up a pair of USA South matches over Mary Baldwin and N.C. Wesleyan at Merner Gym on Saturday afternoon.

In the first match, Pfeiffer had little trouble with Mary Baldwin, sweeping the
Fighting Squirrels 3-0 (25-11, 25-17, 25-17).

Bri Weber (Jesup, Iowa) led the way offensively with nine kills. She also contributed eight digs.  Setter Angelina Fardella (Harrisburg, N.C.) managed 26 assists and seven kills on the while fellow freshman Alonna Clouse (Harrisburg, N.C.) had seven kills to go along with seven aces. Clouse also had nine digs. Junior Lili Jaramillo (Oakboro, N.C.) also had seven aces on the match.

As a team, Pfeiffer converted 17 aces in the three-set win.

In the match against North Carolina Wesleyan, Pfeiffer took a 3-1 (18-25, 25-19, 26-24, 26-24) win.

Against the Bishops, Clouse had 17 kills while Fardella dished 38 assists. Libero Emma Gray Beacham (Laurinburg, N.C.) played a great defensive game, posting 21 digs while Clouse finished with 20.

Lea Hilton (Kannapolis, N.C.) was a presence at the net, as she had four block assists to lead the Falcons.

The pair of wins improves the Falcons to 7-10 on the season and 3-5 in league play. 

The Falcons will step out of conference play on Oct. 9, traveling to Ferrum for a 7:00 p.m. match with the Panthers.
