Clouse and Beacham Earn USA South Weekly Volleyball Awards

Pfeiffer's Alonna Clouse and Emma Gray Beacham Earn USA South Weekly Volleyball Awards

Misenheimer, N.C. (Oct. 9, 2018) – A pair of Pfeiffer volleyball players have earned USA South weekly awards the league has announced.

Clouse, a freshman outside hitter from Harrisburg, N.C. averaged 3.60 kills and 3.80 digs per set as the Falcons posted a 2-1 record last week versus USA South competition. In a 3-0 loss to Salem, Clouse posted 12 digs with nine digs. In a 3-0 victory over Mary Baldwin, Clouse tallied seven kills, nine digs and seven service aces.

Finally, in a 3-1 win over N.C. Wesleyan, Clouse notched a double-double of 17 kills and 20 digs to go along with one service ace and one block.  This marks her second-consecutive rookie of the week award, having also earned the honor on Oct. 1.

Beacham, a sophomore libero from Laurinburg, N.C. averaged 5.90 digs per set as the Falcons posted a 2-1 record last week versus USA South competition. In a 3-0 loss to Salem, she posted 17 digs with five assists and two service aces. In a 3-0 victory over Mary Baldwin, Beacham tallied 21 digs, two assists and two service aces. Finally, in a 3-1 win over N.C. Wesleyan, Beacham totaled 21 digs, three service aces and two assists.

This marks her first USA South award of the season.
