TALLULAH FALLS -- The Pfeiffer men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up their 2017 campaign by competing in the USA South Conference Championship on Saturday morning. The Falcons didn't receive a team score as they are not yet able to compete for league championships but were able to run as individuals.
On the women's side, Kylie Spencer wrapped up an outstanding career with another top-10 finish. Spencer placed sixth amongst all conference runners, finishing the 6k course in a time of 23:44.79. For her career, Spencer has accumulated two first-place times and seven top-five finishes.
Junior Cassidy Hooper finished just outside the top-10, coming in 11th place. Hooper crossed the finish line in a time of 24:17.77. Megan Miller finished 17th to give Pfeiffer three top-20 runners on the day. Dana Johnson and Cailen Fusetti rounded out the top five runners.
The men were paced by freshman Devon Williams who came in 22nd, finishing the 8k course with a time 28:44.97. Senior Brandon Boyd wrapped up his career with a 41st place finish with a time of just over 30 minutes. Mackennon Watson, Michael McKinney and Prince Kun rounded out Pfeiffer's top five.
The Falcons will look to build off today's strong showing for the 2018 season.
