Misenheimer, NC---Pfeiffer split a double-header with Mount Olive Wednesday afternoon. This was a non-conference event. Pfeiffer won the first game 10-9 and lost the second 8-2.  GAME ONE Mount Olive jumped to a 8-1 lead after the top of the fifth. Kyle Pugh hit a two-run Home Run in the bottom of the fifth to bring the Falcons within 6-3. Trailing 9-3 going into the bottom of the sixth Pfeiffer scored three highlighted by a Shawn Coke two-run double. Pfeiffer won it with four in the bottom of the seventh. Pfeiffer opened with four straight singles. Following an out two walks and a hit by pitch won the game 10-9 for the Falcons. Andrew Oliver got the win in relief for the Falcons. GAME TWO Pfeiffer jumped out in the first with one run when Bryan Braxton plated Daniel Brown. The Trojans scored four in the third and three in the fourth to take a commanding 7-1 lead. Braxton doubled in Jodie Groce in the fifth but the Falcons could not score again and lost 8-2. Nick Fogleman started for Pfeiffer and picked up the loss giving up seven runs(four earned) in four innings.  Pfeiffer next plays when they host Anderson in a weekend series with a double-header Saturday at Noon and a single game Sunday at 1:00 pm  |
