MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Three different pitchers combined to toss a one-hit shutout, while a two-run double provided all of the offense needed, as Pfeiffer University blanked visiting Carson-Newman College 2-0 in baseball action on Wednesday at Joe Ferebee Field. Jeff Barkley (Charlotte, NC), Chuck Ingram (Richfield, NC) and Adam Sedberry (Monroe, NC) teamed up to help pitch the Falcons to 4-4 on the season while sending the Eagles to 3-5.

Barkley tossed the first six innings on Wednesday allowing just the one hit with three strikeouts in the win. The lone Carson-Newman hit was thanks to a Kyle Koeneman (Seymour, TN) lead-off single to center in the second. Ingram came in to face one more than the minimum in the seventh and eight before Sedberry, making his first appearance in over a year, pitched a perfect ninth for the save.

Dalton Lindley (Siler City, NC) put the Falcons with the only runs needed in the first with a two-out double down the left field line that scored Jon Gray (Granite Falls, NC) and Preston Lyon (Gastonia, NC). Gray would keep the inning alive by reaching on a fielder's choice while Lyon singled to left.

Pfeiffer will now head to Georgia College for a three-game weekend series in Milledgeville. The Falcons and Bobcats will play two on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. before playing the finale on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
