WILSON, N.C. - Late turnovers and a poor shooting second half came back to haunt Pfeiffer University on Monday night during a tough 58-55 road loss at Barton College in Conference Carolinas women's basketball action. The Bulldogs improve to 10-4 overall, 9-1 in league play while the Lady Falcons fall to 11-3, 6-3.

Tied at 52-52 with 4:22 left in the second half after a pair of Jodie Lemons free throws, things would unravel long enough for the Bulldogs to take advantage. A pair of turnovers 36 seconds apart led to two Barton layups and a 56-52 lead. After a Brittany Cox three sliced the lead down to one with 58 ticks left, Janae Jackson converted the final bucket for Barton leading to the final 58-55 tally.

Pfeiffer carried a 32-29 at the half and carried that momentum into an eight-point, 44-36 lead with 13:26 remaining in the half. Christina Harvey and Jodie Lemons accounted for most of the points in the first 6:34 of the half and would hold the lead until a Nyesha Willie free throw squared the contest at 46-46 with 8:20 to play. The Lady Falcons had their last lead with 6:41 on the clock after a Harvey layup before the contest was all knotted up with 4:22 remaining.

Harvey and Lemons each posted double-doubles for the Lady Falcons both snagging 10 rebounds while Harvey scored 16 to Lemons' 15. Cox followed with 14 on the night. Pfeiffer shot a dismal 29% in the second half after a 44% shooting first half. The Lady Falcons did dominate the boards once again holding a 42-31 advantage.

Pfeiffer returns home on Thursday night to take on Coker inside the Merner Gym. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. with live stats and video being available through http://www.gofalconsports.com.
