Box Score SALISBURY, NC- Despite home runs by Zach Scudder, Ryne Stanley and Dylan Goodman the Pfeiffer baseball team (11-19) fell to Catawba (17-11) 15-6 on Wednesday night.
Pfeiffer struck first in the top of the second inning when Goodman hit his second home run of the year, a solo shot to left center field. The Indians responded by scoring two runs in the second, a run in the third, two more in the fourth before hanging an eight spot on Pfeifer to extended the lead to 13-1.
The Falcons were able to rally in the eighth inning scoring five runs on five hits. Scudder hit a 3-run blast to left center field scoring John Elwood and Austin Fox. Hunter Griffin then ripped a double down the left field line, scoring on a two-run home run to left center. Catawba responded with another two spot in the bottom of the frame.
Pfeiffer returns to action on Friday for a 3-game series with conference leader North Greenville. First pitch is scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
