MIAMI SHORES, FL – The Pfeiffer (2-3) exploded  for 14 runs on Sunday afternoon as they took the rubber game of the three game set at Barry University (2-5) by the score of 14-11. Zach Scudder posted five RBI on the day with a home run and a single.

For the second consecutive game, Pfeiffer jumped on the Buccaneers in the top half of the first inning as first baseman Tanner Mathis hit a two homer to left center. Damon Smith and Xavier Rodriguez both added RBI singles in the inning to give the Falcons the early 4-0 lead.

Lamazares came up again singled  in second RBI of the game.

After Pfeiffer and Barry traded scores in the third inning, Scudder came to bat in the top of the fourth and hit a three run homer to left center.

The Falcons added homeruns from Derek Perry and Kirby Lambert in the top of the sixth to help extend the lead to 14-7.

Barry came back in the sixth and seventh innings as Alffredi Ramos singled in Lamazares and a homerun by Abreu.

In the top of the ninth, Scudder came through with an insurance run as he singled home John Elwood.

The Falcons were able to hold on to the win in the bottom of the ninth as Rodriguez picks up his first save of the season for Cameron Reid who pitched three innings in relief for the win.

Elwood was 3-for-5 on the afternoon to extend his five game hitting streak to start the season.
