Box Score Pfeiffer Women's Basketball Wins at Salem
Winston-Salem, N.C. (Dec. 14, 2018) – The Pfeiffer University women's basketball team got 21 points from Mya McClain and 14 from Ja'Mia Johnson in a 76-61 USA South road win at Salem College on Saturday afternoon.
McClain, a sophomore from Hickory, N.C. finished 5-of-8 from the field and hit two three-pointers in the win. She also was 9-of-10 from the line and contributed five rebounds and seven assists.
Johnson, from Durham, N.C., was 6-of-7 from the field and grabbed five rebounds on the afternoon.
Pfeiffer raced out to a 9-0 lead in the first quarter and never looked back, eventually leading as many as 18 points in the fourth quarter, eventually winning by a 76-61 final.
The win improves Pfeiffer to 3-2 overall and 1-1 in USA South play while Salem drops to 0-9 and 0-3 in league play.
Pfeiffer will now break for the holidays and will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 2 when they host Methodist in USA South play.
