How it Happened
Pfeiffer jumped up 1-0 in the top of the first inning after Zach Ferrell (Apex, N.C.) hit a leadoff double and advanced to second on a Seth Grice (Stanfield, N.C.) single.  Sophomore Bryce Marsh (Asheboro, N.C.) was then hit by a pitch to load the bases.  Ferrell would race home after Jake Brown (Winston-Salem, N.C.) hit into a fielder's choice.

N.C. Wesleyan tied it at 1-1 following a bases loaded walk in the home half of the first inning and would take the 2-1 lead on a sacrifice fly.

The Bishops would then get a two-run double in the third inning to push their lead to 4-1.

Pfeiffer chipped away at the lead thanks to a Hayden McGraw (Conover, N.C.) RBI single in the fourth inning that scored senior Ira Dorin (Lithia Springs, Ga.) and in the fifth on a Marsh double that plated Grice.

The Falcons then put together a big inning in the seventh, pushing six runs across to make it 9-4.  Two Falcon runs raced home on a N.C. Wesleyan error.  The Bishops then walked a run across and McGraw delivered a sacrifice fly to make it 8-4.  Ferrell would then double home Dorin to end the scoring in the inning.

Pfeiffer then scored two more in the eight thanks to a Kyler Fairchild (Taylorsville, N.C.) double that scored Brown and Marsh, making it 11-4.

The Bishops then got a two-run homer in the eighth and an RBI single to draw to 11-7.

Pfeiffer pitcher Josh Topper (Charlotte, N.C.) came in to complete the ninth inning and after surrendering a walk, forced a groundout, for the first out, delivered a strike out for the second out and then the Pfeiffer defense came up with a fielder's choice to end the game.

Pfeiffer pitcher Grayson Huneycutt (Mt. Pleasant, N.C.) picked up the win allowing just one hit in his 1.2 innings of work while striking out one.  Cam Reid (Asheboro, N.C.) and Topper also registered a strike out as each pitched an inning.
