Box Score Pfeiffer Baseball Drops 2-1 Decision at Piedmont
Demorest, Ga. (Feb. 28, 2020) –Piedmont College scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to take a narrow 2-1 baseball win over Pfeiffer University at Loudermilk Field on Friday evening.

THE BASICS
Piedmont scored an early run in the second inning when Wes Snyder hit an RBI single with bases loaded, putting the Lions up 1-0.
Pfeiffer fought back to tie the game at 1-1 in the fifth inning when Hayden McGraw scored on a wild pitch with two outs. McGraw led off the inning by reaching on an error by the Lion third baseman. He would reach second on a Zach Ferrell walk and would later reach third on a fielder's choice.
In the ninth, Pfeiffer's Austin Morton reached on a leadoff walk and would advance on a sacrifice by Eli Blake. He would reach third after McGraw flied out to right field. Bryan Kowalski would then groundout to end the Falcon threat.
Piedmont would end the game in the ninth, when James Whitmer delivered the walkoff single to earn the 2-1 win for the Lions.
