Box Score Falcons Clipped by Lynchburg, 6-5
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 11, 2020) – The visiting Lynchburg Hornets rapped out nine hits and scored all their runs in the middle inning to take a 6-5 baseball win over Pfeiffer on Wednesday afternoon at a warm and sunny Joe Ferebee Field.

How it Happened
The homestanding Falcons went up 1-0 early as a Nate Callahan groundout allowed Austin Morton to score from third. Morton led off the inning with a single and then advance to third on a wild pitch.
Lynchburg would then get an RBI double from Kinston Carson to tie the game at 1-1. Carson tried to stretch the hit into a triple but was cut down by the Falcon defense.
Pfeiffer then tallied another run in the third to reclaim the lead at 2-1. Seth Grice managed to get on via a Lynchburg error and would move to third on a single from Kyle Carter. Zach Ferrell would then foul out to the left fielder, allowing Grice to scamper home for the 2-1 lead.
Lynchburg added a pair of runs in both the fourth and fifth inning to jump ahead 5-2, but Pfeiffer once again responded, this time in the fifth on a groundout from Ferrell that allowed Jarrett Riffle to score, trimming the lead to 5-3 Riffle had a double to start the inning.
Each team scored a run in the sixth inning, making it 6-4. Pfeiffer then plated a run in the eighth on an RBI single by Noah Handy.
Pfeiffer did threaten in the ninth, putting runners on second and third, but a strike out ended the game, with Lynchburg taking the 6-5 win.
