How it Happened
After the two teams battled through two scoreless innings, Greensboro came up big in the third. Greensboro's Scotty McGuire led off with a single and moved to second when Jamar Ellis drew a walk. With one out, the Pride drew another walk to load the bases. The Pride's Chance Bryant then lifted a ball to left field that got caught in a stiff wind and just cleared the left field wall to put the visitors up 4-0 on the grand slam.

Pfeiffer responded by plating a run in the fourth inning to make it 4-1.  Austin Morton laced a triple to left field and would scamper home on a Noah Handy sacrifice fly to center field.

Greensboro had another big inning in the fifth, this time pushing five runs across to jump to 9-1.  Pfeiffer did cut into the Pride lead in the sixth inning, pushing four runs of their own across to make it 9-5.

Pfeiffer's Bryce Marsh would single, then moved to second base when Kyler Fairchild was hit by a pitch. Morton would then double down the left field line, driving in Marsh. Handy would then collect an RBI single, followed by a Seth Grice RBI double.  Bryan Kowalski then hit his own RBI double, scoring Grice from second, making it 9-5.

Greensboro did scratch another run across, making it 10-5 heading into the bottom of the ninth.

In the Pfeiffer ninth, Bryan Kowalski led off with a single and advanced on a Pride error.  Hayden McGraw would then single down the right field line, allowing Kowalski to score, making it 10-6.

Greensboro relief pitcher Jake Baldini, seeing his first action of the season, then surrendered another single, this time to freshman Jake Brown.  Baldini then got Kyler Fairchild to fly out to left field to end the game while earning the save.

Greensboro starter Parker Strader pitched six innings in earning his third win of the season, allowing nine Pfeiffer hits and five runs.  Strader also recorded a pair of strikeouts while issuing just one walk.

Pfeiffer's Nate Ray suffered his first loss of the season and now stands at 1-1.  Ray allowed three hits and eight runs on the afternoon in the loss.
