Game 1 - Thursday
Pfeiffer started off with a bang when leadoff hitter Zach Ferrell blasted a solo shot deep into the Misenheimer night off Greensboro starter Cameron Edmo, giving Pfeiffer the early 1-0 lead. After loading the bases thanks to a Greensboro error and a pair of walks, Blake Winebarger delivered an RBI single to stake Pfeiffer to the early 2-0 lead.
Greensboro then went on a tear, scoring four runs in the second and adding another in the third to go up 5-2. Another three runs crossed for the Pride in the fifth making it 8-2, but Pfeiffer got those three runs back in the bottom of the fifth when Jake Brown lifted a monster solo homerun down the left field line followed by a sacrifice fly from Austin Morton that scored Kyler Fairchild from third. Fairchild reached base after a double and then subsequently stole third base to setup the sacrifice fly. Bryan Kowalski then laced a triple to left center and would later score on a Thomas Ashby RBI single, to draw to within 8-5.
The Pride scored two in the seventh and three more in the eighth to go up 13-5. Pfeiffer scored a run in the bottom of the eighth when Brady Parker lifted a sacrifice fly to center field, scoring Ferrell to provide the eventual 13-6 final.
Pfeiffer starting pitcher Grayson Huneycutt took the loss, surrendering five runs on four hits while striking out one. Greensboro's Jake Baldini earned the win while giving up one run on one Falcon hit.
