Pfeiffer Men's Basketball Wins Over Colby-Sawyer 77-70
Virginia Beach, Va. (Nov. 12, 2022) – Rashamel Butler scored 20 points and led three Falcon players in double-figures in a 77-70 win over Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday afternoonat the Townebank Tip-Off hosted by Virginia Wesleyan University.
Butler, from Ridgeland, S.C., hit 10-of-12 free throws and was 6-of-12 from the field in the win. He also grabbed 12 rebounds for his first career double-double for the Falcons. Graduate student
Taylan Rowe (Oakboro, N.C.) managed an 18-point outing, as he hit a pair of three-pointers while going 8-of-20 from the field.
Daymon Beckwith (Jacksonville, N.C.) scored in double-digits in his third straight game, this time going for 11 points on a 4-of-6 shooting effort. Beckwith also had a pair of assists and rebounds.
Pfeiffer clawed their way back from a 41-32 halftime deficit by putting together a 14-3 run to start the second half, gaining the 46-44 lead on a Beckwith three-pointer at the 15:32 mark.
Colby-Sawyer would tie the game at 70-70 with 1:43 to play, but a 7-0 spurt from Pfeiffer provided the 77-70 final.
Pfeiffer will play in their third-straight game in as many days on Sunday, Nov. 13 when they take on Division I and defending Big South champion Longwood University in an exhibition contest at 3:00 p.m. in Farmville, Va.
