Pfeiffer Baseball Splits Doubleheader With Brevard
Misenheimer, N.C. (March 14, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University baseball team split a nonconference doubleheader with Brevard College on Sunday, March 13, winning the first game 6-5 and falling in the nightcap 3-2.

Game 1
Originally scheduled for seven innings, Pfeiffer junior
Bryce Marsh (Asheboro, N.C.) provided an RBI single in the bottom of the ninth inning to push the Falcons to a 6-5 win.
Marsh finished 3-of-5 on the game with a pair of RBI. Sophomore teammateÂ
Landon Evans (Statesville, N.C.) scored once and was 2-of-4 from the plate.Â
Austin Morton (Jacksonville, Fla.) hit his team-leading fifth double on the season for Pfeiffer's lone extra-base hit in the game.
Dakota Caughey (Gastonia, N.C.) earned the pitching win for the Falcons, as he scattered two hits over three innings while striking out a pair of Tornado batters.
Game 2
In game two, also a scheduled seven inning game, Brevard loaded the bases in the top of the 10
th inning and scored on a hit batter to take the 3-2 lead.
In the bottom half of the inning,
Zach Ferrell (Apex, N.C.) drew a one-out walk and would later advance to second on a passed ball. Brevard pitcher Bryce Bowers would strike out Pfeiffer's
Jackson Leck (High Point, N.C.) to close the game.
