The host Bishops jumped out to a 17-0 lead after five innings until senior
Austin Morton hit a solo home run in the sixth to help the Falcons avoid the shutout. Down 19-1, Pfeiffer got another run in the seventh on an RBI single from
Jackson Leck that allowed
Jiwon Yun to score, making it 19-2, the eventual final
Yun reached earlier in the inning after being hit by a pitch.
How it Happened – Sunday
N.C. Wesleyan hit a pair of home runs, a three-run blast and a two-run shot in the first inning to jump ahead 5-0. Another solo home run from NCWC in the second inning made the score 6-0 and an RBI single pushed the cushion to 7-0 in the second.
Morton hit his second home run of the series in the third, this being a two-run shot to center field to trim the lead to 7-2.Â
Alec Bell contributed an RBI single in the fourth to make it 7-3, but NCWC score four in the fifth inning, one in the seventh and added three more in the eighth to end the game at 15-3.

Pfeiffer will step out of USA South play on Wednesday, March 30 with a trip to Lynchburg, Va. to take on fourth-ranked Lynchburg. First pitch is slated for 3:00 p.m.
