Baseball Drops 15-8 Nonconference Game at Roanoke
Pulaski, Va. (April 14, 2022) – Roanoke College scored four runs in the fifth inning to break ope a tie game en route to a 15-8 nonconference baseball win over Pfeiffer University on Wednesday afternoon at Calfee Park in Pulaski, Va.

How it Happened
After spotting Roanoke a 4-0 lead, Pfeiffer started chipping away at the deficit when
Alec Bell delivered an RBI single in the fourth to plate
Jake Brown, making it 4-1.Â
Jackson Leck followed with a double to left field that allowed Marsh to score to bring Pfeiffer within 4-2.
Pfeiffer would tie the game in the fifth inning when Brown would hit a sacrifice fly to right field followed by a fielder's choice from
Bryce Marsh, knotting the game at 4-4.
The tie was short-lived as Roanoke responded in their half of the frame by plating four runs to go up 8-4.
The Falcons would score two more in the sixth inning to draw to 8-7, but Roanoke pushed the lead to 15-7 at the end of the seventh inning. Brown would get another RBI on a groundout in the eighth inning to provide the eventual 15-8 final.

Jackson Leck went 2-of-2 on the day with a double and an RBI while
Landon Evans and
Jake Brown each had two RBI in the loss.

Pfeiffer will jump back into USA South play this upcoming weekend when they host Methodist University. The first game of the three-game set is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 22 at Joe Ferebee Field. Saturday's 4:00 p.m. game will honor the life and legacy of former Pfeiffer head baseball coach Joe Ferebee in the annual Ferebee Day game.
