Pfeiffer Baseball Ends Season With 13-5 Setback to Huntingdon
Rocky Mount, N.C. (May 7, 2022) – The Pfeiffer University baseball team suffered a 13-5 setback to Huntingdon College in the losers bracket of the USA South Divisional Tournament, ending the Falcons' season.

How it Happened
After going scoreless through the first three innings, Huntingdon broke through first with a  sacrifice fly in the top of the fourth to take the early 1-0 lead.
The Falcons responded with four runs in the bottom of the fourth, the first coming on an RBI single from
Austin Morton.Â
Alec Bell then drove in a run with a single to push Pfeiffer's lead to 2-0.Â
Landon Evans would follow with a RBI double and
Blake Winebarger's groundout would give the Falcons the 4-1 lead.
Huntingdon would take the lead for good in the sixth inning when a double to right field made it 6-5 in favor of the Hawks.
Five more runs for Huntingdon crossed in the seventh inning to push the lead to 11-5 and another pair of Hawk runs in the eighth inning provided the eventual 13-5 final, ending the Pfeiffer season.
Alec Bell lead the way for Pfeiffer, as he was 3-of-4 from the plate with a pair of RBI while scoring a run.
Pfeiffer finishes the season with an 18-20 overall record.
