Pfeiffer Men's Basketball Gets Big Road Win at William Peace

Raleigh, N.C. (Jan. 28, 2023) – All five starters scored in double-figures as the Pfeiffer University men's basketball team took a 98-86 USA South road win from William Peace University in Raleigh, N.C. on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons shot a season-best 63.8% (37-of-58) from the field and hit seven from long range in the win.  Pfeiffer did most of their damage inside, as they outscored the Pacers 40-34 in the paint.

Pfeiffer also committed a season-low six turnovers, the same in a Jan. 14 home game against Southern Virginia.

Individually, Daniel Fulp (Winston-Salem, N.C.) led the way for the Falcons with 21 points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds.  Fulp also had a pair of assists and a pair of steals.

Graduate student guard Taylan Rowe (Oakboro, N.C.) and sophomore guard Daymon Beckwith (Jacksonville, N.C.) each had 19 points and a pair of rebounds each in the win.

Rashamel Butler (Ridgeland, S.C.) and M.J. Armstrong (Gastonia, N.C.) also had solid outings, with Butler scoring 12 points and Armstrong following with 11.  Butler also added six rebounds, three assists and one blocked shot while Armstrong contributed four rebounds and a pair of assists.

William Peace, who drops to 11-7 and 6-2 in USA South play got 26 points from Timothy Pettiford and 23 from Michael Dulin in the loss.

Pfeiffer will return home to Merner Gym this upcoming Wednesday night, Feb. 1 when they host Methodist University in the first of three consecutive home games for the Falcons.

Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
