Pfeiffer Men's Basketball Falls on the Road at N.C. Wesleyan, 80-60
Rocky Mount, N.C. (Jan. 7, 2023) – The Pfeiffer University men's basketball team opened up USA South play with an 80-60 setback at N.C. Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in Rocky Mount, N.C.
Pfeiffer (3-7, 0-1 USA South) got a team-best 12 points from freshman
M.J. Armstrong (Gastonia, N.C.) in the loss. Armstrong finished shooting 5-of-8 from the field and also had five rebounds. Teammate
Daniel Fulp (Winston-Salem, N.C.) managed a team-high eight rebounds to go along with four points.
As a team, Pfeiffer shot 24-of-55 from the field, good for a 43.6% clip, however, the homestanding Bishops went 31-of-63 for 49.2%. NCWU also forced 18 Pfeiffer turnovers and converted those miscues into 15 points.
N.C. Wesleyan (10-3, 2-0 USA South) placed five players in double-figures with Kyron Kelly leading the way with 19 points.
The Falcons will return to play on Tuesday night, Jan. 10 with a USA South road game at Brevard College. Tipoff from Boshamer Gym is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
